About Us

Kathryn Benton, CCMT Owner/Founder

As a young girl I always felt very connected to animals and nature. I spent a lot of time in Golden Gate Park with my dad surrounded by beautiful landscapes while feeding the squirrels and scrub jays. In my early 20s I knew there had to be a way to work with plants and help animals. So I participated in an internship at Folsom Zoo helping build an animal habitat. In 2007, I received my Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture specializing in Landscape Design jat Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo.

Along with this experience, I have worked in animal hospitals since 2002. During this time I have also been a state certified human massage therapist and experienced being a dog sitter/walker in SF. In 2016, I completed my small animal massage therapy certification at the Ojai School of Canine Massage. In addition, starting in 2014, I spent 6 years at as the Physical Therapy Manager at an animal hospital in SLO where she worked very closely with dogs, cats and their families to provide thorough treatments involving laser therapy and massage therapy. I now work 3 days a week at Morro Bay Vet Clinic where I love the hospital environment and camaraderie of being part of a small family run business. Other time is spent helping pets and their people through Paws in the Poppies.

In 2024, I purchased a high-powered PEMF machine and red light machine to expand my toolbox to help animals live their best life. I am a certificate PEMF practitioner through Magnawave and the Association of PEMF Professionals (AOPP). I am also a member of the AOPP and have become a certified Human PEMF practioner.

Through my experience, my passion to help pets and their humans has bloomed.
