About Us

Kathryn Benton, CCMT Owner/Founder

As a young girl Kathryn always felt very connected to animals and nature. She spent a lot of time at Golden Gate Park with her dad surrounded by beautiful landscapes while feeding the squirrels and scrub jays. In her early 20s she knew there had to be a way to work with plants and help animals. So she participated in an internship at Folsom Zoo helping build an animal habitat. In 2007, Kathryn received her Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture specializing in Landscape Design.

Along with this experience, Kathryn has worked in animal hospitals since 2002. During this time she also has been a state certified human massage therapist and experienced being a dog sitter/walker in SF. In 2016, she completed her small animal massage therapy certification at the Ojai School of Canine Massage. In addition, starting in 2014, she spent 6 years at as the Physical Therapy Manager at an animal hospital in SLO where she worked very closely with dogs, cats and their families to provide thorough treatments involving laser therapy and massage therapy. Kathryn now works 3 days a week at Cambria Vet Clinic where she loves the hospital feeling and camaraderie of being part of a small family run business. Other time is spent helping pet's and their people through Paws in the Poppies.

Through her clinical and landscape design experience, Kathryn's passion to help pets and their humans outside of the hospital setting has bloomed.
